EFL partnership with the British Red Cross

Let's club together.

The EFL and the British Red Cross partnered together between 2022-24 to help people experiencing loneliness.

Throughout our two-year partnership, we worked alongside EFL Clubs to support communities and bring people closer through football.

We raised over £400,000 through various fundraising activities across the two years to help people supported by the British Red Cross*.

Below are more ways we supported communities throughout our partnership.

Launching our Let's Club Together school activity pack

Together with the EFL and EFL Trust we created a free kindness pack for young people. The activity pack encourages children to positively combat loneliness by focusing on kindness and teamwork.

Activities in the pack include:

  • how to look after yourself to become a stronger member of your team
  • social interaction with others and the importance of friendship and support
  • promoting positive experiences through kindness.

Having that dedicated time with Ruby was really special. I’m hoping to get Ruby and Hollie back along to the club to take part in some of the community football training and youth clubs.

Organising 25 Club Connect events to connect people through EFL Community programmes

These series of events brought over 330 people supported by the British Red Cross to come together with other local fans, to enjoy the nation’s favourite game. By introducing people experiencing loneliness to community Club programmes, we helped to reduce feelings of isolation and encourage new lasting friendships and connections in communities.

Football can bring people together. Even if you don't know the language, football will teach you how to speak.
