How we can support our partners during emergencies in the UK
As part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement we use our knowledge and insight to support partners to ensure that people’s needs are met in an emergency.
The British Red Cross can provide the following emergency support to partners
Emergencies can strike at any time and anywhere. We support those affected by providing people, equipment, space and resources to help them recover.
Our support in action
You can expect to see the British Red Cross at incidents supporting people in crisis: floods, fires, terrorist attacks, human trafficking operations, health emergencies, utility disruptions and transport emergencies.
Whether it's a fire in a family home or a large-scale national emergency, you can contact us for support 24/7.
What we can't help with:
- We will not provide personal care, childminding or pet care
- We will not act as designated first aider
- We will not provide catering at an emergency (including the delivery of hot food or payment for any food items)
- We will usually not support with the collection, sorting or distribution of donated goods
