Red Cross has reached nearly in 1 in 30 people worldwide, during pandemic
Luke Tredget, Head of Emergencies at the British Red Cross, said:
“The world is dealing with a global crisis that dwarfs anything we have ever had to contend with before. This is going to be a long struggle, and as this pandemic continues to dominate every aspect of our lives, our ability to cope with our own personal circumstances may become more difficult.
“Everyone has lost a sense of “life as we knew it” but we must continue to have the hope that, if we pull together, then we will get through this. We must remember to be kind to ourselves, our friends and neighbours. This is an extremely difficult time and with no end in sight it is normal to feel helpless.
“Globally, the Red Cross has so far reached nearly 1 in 30 people with support; we will continue to be there for as long as we are needed. From the UK, to Yemen, to Bangladesh, and beyond, we have all been affected by this pandemic. You are not alone. If you are in the UK and struggling, you can call the British Red Cross dedicated Coronavirus Support Line on 0808 196 3651 to get the help you need.”
- The support line will be operating from Monday to Friday, 10am to 12pm midday. You will also be able to leave a voicemail, and we will call you back as soon as possible, within business hours up to 5pm.
